Nothing special here. I was on a ride with my bike through the Pine Barrens and decided to stop and take a photo I had taken several times before. Nice thing about landscapes is they changed from day to day depending on variables like light and weather and time of day. I posted a similar shot in Digital Artistry that tries to be a bit more painterly.

I like this one better. The colours in the water and sky are really nice. To my eyes, it looks a bit crooked, but then I have an astigmatism. The slightly misty look adds just a touch of mystery that's nice.

This is the kind of shot a viewer will spend some time looking around at. The reflections look good of the calm water. The sky has just the right amount of clouds. And the building is an added bonus.

I left my house about an hour before it starts getting light. When I got here with my bike, I figured I was all by myself and then some guy who works for the state drove up in his pickup. He stopped and exclaimed that he definitely did not expect to see anyone way out there in the early morning. I expressed that I was quite as surprised to see him. Serene? Sure; but it is, after all, New Jersey. Your are never really alone. lol Thanks for taking a look.

It looks a bit crooked to me as well. I did use the "level" took in my viewfinder; but I do think it might be just a bit off. THanks for taking a look.

I did spend some time walking around the house and checking out different angles. I settled on this view although I also shot a view with the light behind me from the other side of the house. That is pretty cool as well. Maybe I'll post it as an alternate view. Thanks for looking.

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm also glad that I took some time to make sure that the reflection does not overlap the shore. That would not have been good. As it is, it is a bit tight.

stress reducing? Calm? Those are very good things. I agree with you whole heartedly. I should probably look at this photo right before I get my blood pressure measured. lol

It's only the perspective of the disappearing path and the water line. Use the building itself for determining if the image is straight. Unless, of course, the building leans But, also the big tree on the right side would be a good gauge.

Beautiful and serene. I hate it when someone disturbs my solitude

The building looks level to me. Trees are hard to use as rulers because they are not always straight as a rail. If it is crooked , it is not by very much.
