Remnant of a shack in a New Mexico Ghost Town. In the color version, the nails are reddish. I was attracted to this due to the texture and shading. Probably underwhelming or a little too artsy. Anyhow, I like it.

I liked it, and the concept you were going for! Well done and good commentary.

The exposed nails at the bottom are fascinating. Like you, I find the textures and shading to be photogenic. I'm trying to do a bit more abstract-type compositions from reality, but often fail. And I never think of "artsy" as a negative term

One consideration for this composition: the nails get a little lost in this tall aspect. Cropping a bit at both ends would strengthen the story IMO.

Consider posting images with a larger pixel resolution. This image at 427-pixels wide doesn't offer much to see nor comment against.

If for me and my 'larger' comment, consider storing the original. Thx.

Intriguing subject and composition. Following up on Linda's comment, I wonder if a square format- achieved by cropping off the top - would be better?

My suggestion isn't for a square aspect.
