I love how Stella looks. Great job. For me, the empty left side of the frame is too big. Maybe a square crop?

I agree with Rab-Eye about the crop. There's a lot of big empty to the left. The whiskers are wonderfully illuminated and pronounced.

I love it, the composition is great. I like the space in front, but maybe just a bit less. Is this 16 x9? I would not take a lot away, but some. The light and expression with the whiskers very nice.

Here are crops to 16x9 and square. I did them from the 2000px wide upload instead of the larger original.

The 16x9 contains most of the story I had in mind (not "whiskers" - that was a misleading title, lol). The story is her gaze into space, or out the window, or somewhere that you interpret.

BUT! I also love the tight square crop for the story of the title: whiskers! Isn't it grand I don't have to choose

Many thanks to all for your suggestions, time and lovely comments!

Don't you love when everyone second-guesses you! I think the square crop has gone too far and the 16x9 has too much. Somewhere in-between would be my choice.

Being a cat fan, I’ll take any one of those pictures. Good work, Linda. Give Stella a hug and a kiss for me.

I do love people's input, Kathy! There have been many happy surprises when someone suggests or sees something I didn't anticipate or see.

I wouldn't ask for feedback if I didn't want it

Thanks so much, Stan. I would be more of a Stella fan if she'd sleep past 2:30 in the morning...

My personal taste—I love the square crop, but I’m partial towards that format anyway.

I also enjoy square crops, whether with single flower blossoms, or a close-up that fills the frame, or sometimes it's what the composition demands. Here are two examples

Thanks again!

Thanks! I think I caught it at peak color and freshness

After glancing at a few of my pics on flickr, I'm going to re-word my previous comment about what I like with square crops.

I agree. Maybe 4/3?
Still a wonderful shot, no matter what crop.
