What trolls ? You mean the viewers ?!!
The important difference is that any old image will "earn" kudos in the Gallery, but if posting here in General Discussion theres the very real risk of honest reactions.

It is his first post. I would like to avoid having him see this as a place he no longer wants to visit.

Did I comment on his photo, which acoarst I cannot sse ? And if one does want a great positive reaction to whatever the photo is, the Gallery guarantees that ! IOW if he does that, then he wiuld most likely stick around. Doing otherwise may result in otherwise. Why risk it ?
