This rare beauty is a 1930 Duesenberg LeBaron Barrelside. It was constructed by LeBaron Carrossiers on a Duesenberg Model J chassis. On the Barrelside cars, the body rolls inward in a pronounced fashion, the read doors open at the " B "pillar, and the beltline has a distinctive parallelogram molding that gives this car an uncommon grace.

The inline, eight cylinder engine is a 420 C.I., dual overhead cam design with a Schebler dual-thorat up-draft carburetor. It make 265 H.P. and the car is driven through a 3-speed manual transmission.

Only 5 of this Barrelside model were produced. It is an extremely rare and valuable automobile.

Quelles beautés!!! I write it with 's' at the end (=plural) because I see an other one in the pictures...not just this green one...it seems to be also about the same car but in white . It appears in the back-ground of the green one.
Absolut amazing design! I could stay hours admiring those lines and features. Thanks 1000x!

Beautiful, and I'd be scared to take that on the road!

I might be OK with driving it in a parade or special event but on the road....no way.

I appreciate you stopping by.

An absolutely beautiful car nicely shot. Sometimes cars like that help me put things in perspective.

I can, almost imagine during the peak of the depression pulling up to a luxurious lodge on the Catskill in such an automobile. My lady needs to escape the squalor New York City. The bums and breadlines are depressing her. I
need to spend a few days relaxing on the Kill with my new hand made 9'6" custom fly rod I just received from Scotland.

The promotion script for this car could not have been more on point than what you envision. Jack. That environment is what this car was made for.

In my mind, Don, it's one of the most beautiful and desirable cars ever made.

Very nice.

I always thought American actress Marlene Dietrich had a Duesenberg and that it was in Southward Car Museum. But I checked and no, her car in Southward Car Museum is a 1934 Cadillac V-16 Town Cabriolet.

Southward Car Museum is world-class and well worth a visit if you're in New Zealand anytime.
They have all sorts of rare and very interesting stuff. For example: 1950 Cadillac Sixty Special "gangster special" - belonged to American gangster Mickey Cohen, fitted with armoured body panels and bulletproof plate glass 1+1⁄2 inches (38 mm) thick.

P.S. Good to see it has 'Heavy Duty" tyres. (Or "tires" if you must. )
Yes, you even see that when you click on to look at the download view. Good sharp details, well done.
