Film Noir is the theme for this week's flickr group, Compositionally Challenged. These are my first attempts.
1. Shot in cloudless sky, mid-morning. Added clouds from my collection (my own shots). The spotlighted bird is a redtail hawk that flew in for some afternoon delight with his honey, while I observed
2. Three-shot composite.
3. Two-shot composite.
Feedback and suggestions encouraged!
I'm on my phone and sitting outside. They look dark and I cannot see details. I'll look again in better conditions.
I like the cat in Right Way.

Reminds me of a Hitchcock movie. Nice

Thanks Karin. My Queen Stella is always a willing model...as long as it's her idea

Thanks very much!
Google:
"Opinion is divided on the noir status of several Alfred Hitchcock thrillers from the era; at least four qualify by consensus: Shadow of a Doubt (1943), Notorious (1946), Strangers on a Train (1951) and The Wrong Man (1956), "Though I tried for a bit of "unease", if not murder and mayhem, with 1 and 3, my #2 is a bit more tongue in cheek

Now that I can see them.. . . .love Stella and the goose. The first one is interesting. Really well done.
The first one does it for me. The bonus, it doesn’t look like a composite. The second one not so much . Stella looks way to big for the scene. Or perhaps I could be wrong and she is a very large cat.😀 The third one I could take it or leave it.
When it comes to film Noir that certainly is not my strong point.
My favorite genre of film. all three of your images are flawless...
#1.. the vulture at the water tank. i recall a murder movie ... the body was hidden in the apartment building water tank... investigating complaints of odd taste revealed... yuck... a rotted body. What movie???
#2.. A ripoff of Hitchcock's Rear-Window... but the murderer digging holes in the garden, being watched by James Stewart, is Stella.
#3.. ONE WAY is a strong message with which to begin the photo story. The array of lines going at many angles is quite effective... the only true horizontal is the vague line under well-fed Stella.
Very nice work Linda! I really like your first, though I think you did well with all three.
