Ha ha ha. Yep. Good point! You gotta have a thick skin to survive all those slings and arrows.
Perhaps I can provide some answers for you and others in this thread. I have worked in a Walmart photo lab for the past several years. We haven't processed film in-store in the last ten years or so. We are a Fuji lab and our machines don't allow us to do any editing or color correction of any kind. Our main photo printer is a Fuji DL650 and we print our posters, poster boards, canvases, and banners on an Epson 9000 series printer. As far as longevity, I have not noticed any fading in my personal prints. I hope this helped to answer your questions.
