Greater Yellowlegs at Belfair State Park 4-4-2024

Took the dog for a walk on a dreary, overcast, cold day for April-12-15 degrees below the average of 59F.
Noted some small shore birds and took a closer look. Greater Yellowlegs! About 20 of them spread over the whole estuary.
Noted a few were flying around without landing. Time of year-mating behavior?
The Killdeer was uninterested.

Beauties, Tim! Best Yellowlegs I've seen. I have never seen them as active as this, maybe it IS mating behavior!
