“Biden needs to refuse to debate for one simple reason” is correct but the reason isn’t what you suggest and you know it. It would be political malpractice for his handlers to allow him on stage for a protracted (which for him would be merely minutes without a teleprompter) period of time given his cognitive decline since 2020. It would immediately undo his “performance” at the State of the Union and demonstrate to an audience who doesn’t regularly see his inability to physically and cognitively navigate many daily endeavors. As shameful as Trump is, it is shameful that his wife, handlers and family are willing to exploit him for their gain at this stage of his life.

There's another good reason: Biden will not be able to respond to any topical challenge unless his handlers are there to coach him on the response. I think all candidates are prohibited from having earpieces so Biden will be lost. The only thing that might save him is getting a copy of the moderator's questions in advance.

I agree completely, they all do but like you I have never seen trump even try once . Maybe one sentence then he always goes into a rant about something else. . eg how the judges are crooked or most likely how the last election was stolen.
