The newest / current software has Adobe support. You'd be best served calling them.

What do you mean by "reconnecting photos"?

You can try to phone them like Paul suggests but that can lead to long wait times. Adobe's preference is to give you support by internet connection methods.

Unlike other Adobe software, Elements has links to support in the Help menu. One link is to their sponsored "forum" where you can usually get quick answers. Another is to "support" that will take you to where you can initiate an online chat session. To open the chat, there is a small round "speech box" in the lower right hand corner.

Shortcut to the forum: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-elements/ct-p/ct-photoshop-elements?page=1&sort=latest_replies&filter=all&lang=all&tabid=discussions

Shortcut to the chat: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen (Hint... type in "agent")

Roughly how many are disconnected? Are they concentrated in a few folders or scattered through many folders? How did they get disconnected? When did you first notice they were disconnected and do you remember what you had been doing back then? What version of Elements are you using? If you contact Adobe they will ask you these questions. If you want help from me and the UHH community you need to share every little bit of information known to you about the problem. There are knowledgeable people here who can and will help if given the chance.

A good portion of the photos are disconnected, that's why I asked do I need to start over from scratch! The version I'm using is Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024.

You have not said how your photos became unconnected in the first place (such as upgrading from an earlier version of PSE, or moving the location of your photo files), so it's Guess R Us here.

But why not try the "chat" function of Adobe Help as suggested by bsprague first?

Much more efficient than talking to us

Thanks everybody for your help, I corrected the problem by just deleting the files that were disconnected and then everything began functioning properly...Julian

I'm guessing you deleted them from the Photoshop Elements catalog. They will still exist on the computer. If you know the folder where some (or all) of them are you can import (do a 'get') on that folder. It will import the ones you deleted and they will be connected. Any that are in the folder and are still in the Photoshop Elements catalog will be listed with a message that they were not imported. That is OK. No further action needed.
