Ah! I just won a bet with myself that someone would pop up who still uses DOS.

I have a friend who learned computer repair and coding in the Army in the 1960s. To this day, he can sit down at a computer and type in 4 different computer languages from back in the day. He does have a bit of trouble keeping a computer old enough running. The new ones don't play well with those four old languages. He tried emulators but couldn't find one that didn't have bugs, and he doesn't consider it worth the trouble to write his own anymore.
Back when we hung around together a lot (70s & 80s) he wrote his own software for auctions he ran. It was so good that other auctioneers begged him to sell them copies.

Programming is so much fun!!
Been doing it for over 50 years myself.
I still do my own website and three others using four languages.
The other eight languages have mostly leaked out from lack of use though.

I am am presuming the IE version is what came packed in the Win7 load.
The following should work regardless of your browser choice.|

Go to 'Control Panel'; 'Internet Options'; Select the 'Connections' Tab.
If you are on a 'LAN'; click 'LAN' & select 'Automatically detect settings'.

If not on a LAN, Click 'Setup'. It is supposed to walk you through the process.

Either way, refresh the page or close your browser and reopen it.

Hopefully this will get you connected.

Have fun! The closest I get to programming is buying new software apps.

I tend to be a "Say it in plain English or don't say it." type. Except when I am talking, and from being a teacher for 34 years I tend to give the Encyclopedia version of things with repetitions for those who need something pounded into their head multiple times.

I tried, but could not find a good reason to keep an old DOS box.

Well I run in on my PC that is running Windows 10. I just pull the hard drive out. Plug in another and run DOS and Win3.11 with it. Oh well I did have to add the Matrox Millenium II card so that I have the correct driver for Win3.11. There is no Win3.11 driver for the ATI FirePro card in the PC. I have a drive for WinXP too. And what made me post this question because I use yet another drive to run Win7.
I can do it with just a USB thumb drive but I found somehow it got error after a couple of run. I really don't know why. I would want to play with it some more. The thumb drive would run DOS just fine but when I run Windows 3.11 it tends to have problem.

I've not found a viable reason (for me) to keep old operating systems.

Yea, I subscribe to the K.I.S.S theory also!
That's why I never used verbose code in my programs.

I'd be surprised if 124 worked.
