Nikon D850 Battery Pack

I could use one occasionally and $350.00 is just too much for me. I have searched the after Market for one and there are many. I am looking for suggestions from someone who may have been in the same boat. Would appreciate your input.

I have used a Vello hand grip battery pack for several years without problem

Can't you use AA batteries if just for occasional use.

I think the D850 tray holds 8

I don't recommend Vivitar. Just ran the batteries down the first time that I used it.

Nikon vertical grips are better made, will sell for much more than off brands, and were specifically made for the D850. I enjoyed mine for years.
You can get them off ebay for as little as $58.70 or best offer. Do not compromise on your expensive D850, always ride with the brand.

Maybe used at MBP, B&H or Adorama or something like that. I have seen vertical grips for sale at MBP. Probably take em off & sell them separately to boost profits on the used ger they purchase.

The link you provided was NOT for a Nikon grip but for a Vello which is sold by B&H new for a few $$ more than this eBay auction.

That is not the price for a battery it is for the battery grip.

I wasn't discussing price. For occasional use, which the op mentioned, it might make sense to have aa batteries on hand that can be used for more things than just the grip.

Henry mentioned used "NIKON" grips above. From the B&H site:

Dedicated to the Nikon D850 DSLR, the MB-D18 Multi-Power Battery Pack offers both enhanced handling capabilities as well as extended battery life. It accepts one additional EN-EL15 lithium-ion battery pack to increase the camera's battery life or, alternatively, eight AA batteries can be used in conjunction with the included MS-D12 AA Battery Holder
