I thought the article was overly simplistic, there are other more comprehensive articles available on the subject.

I think the entire article could be summarized from the following excerpt:

"Manea's advice is simple and based upon the end use of an image: "if it's online, shoot sRGB, if it's for print, shoot Adobe RGB."

Simple is good.

And isn't that what he stated?

It just happened to be an article that appeared in my Facebook feed, I didn't go looking for it.
Since so many here argue about A vs. B, I thought it might help make things simpler. But there will always be those who won't let that happen........ Gotta be long, involved, and detailed, with their reasons to justify their decision.

I've long ago made my decision on which to use.

I watched a vid on You Tube of coarse just a couple of days ago. It was on the Fotospeed *(printing type channel). They had Alex Nail, a landscape photographer on who also has his own channel on you tube, sells books, workshops, etc. He uses the srgb color space from in camera on thru printing. I was actually a little surprised. Happy shooting/ printing!

Yea, I wouldn't want to keep flipping or worry about "saving as" all the time. Two copies? Nope.
I just use one, and it is what it is.....

If you shoot RAW, it makes no difference.

Only with the JPEG if one also saves that.

🤔

And then there are those who accept what is said on the internet without question and without understanding the reasons behind it.

I know you and I know you do understand the reasoning. FYI I would be inclined to believe what you said but some random guy writing an article? I need to know more before I blindly accept it.

And I didn’t say it was wrong or that I disagreed. Rather what he said could have been said in one sentence or if he was going to expand on it then he could have added more detail.

I just us Adobe as my standard and convert in the editing software for posting. I don't always know which will be printed and the image quality most people get on their computer or tablet 90% can't tell any difference from in camera sRGB and software conversion.

The article was aimed at people who want a bit of "why" but are not techies and don't need a comprehensive explanation.
Except for high end user tech publications almost all tech articles are aimed at that audience.

Nor prints made with sRGB and AdobeRGB unless they have the other print to compare.
