Starting into the drive, we were greeted by a large gathering of white birds, Egrets of all sizes. This post is just the birds from the entrance. All shots are with various Nikon cameras and lenses.

There were at least this many more around the curve.

Nice set, white birds always difficult to get just right with no blown out highlights and you managed it great job. One of our club members mentioned there were a lot of birds (particularly Egrets etc) at Black Point.

Thank you, Ann. when I go to Blackpoint I always have my camera metering for highlights. That seems to do a pretty good job. I would really like to see a couple of other birds such as the Reddish Egret or a Great Blue, but maybe another time.

You are welcome. I haven't been to Merrit in quite a while unfortunately, will need to try to get over there soon.

Thanks, Ken. The Reddish Egrets are only there occasionally. Usually there are several Great Blues. I have also seen white Pelicans but only once.

Thank you Luke. I hate to blow out the whites so I am pretty careful.

Wonderful photos, Carol. What an amazing sight, given I've seen one white egret in my entire life

So glad you're out again with your camera!

True but all of these were egrets, Great and Snowies. I’ll take them anyway.
