Never buy a Jag unless you buy a mechanic too. Nice shot

I had a 62' Austin Healy MK 3000 and 64' Austin Healy MK II. Also in need if adjustments!! But, fun to drive!! The 64 was better in keeping adjustments.

I fell in love with her after seeing the scene in “Picnic” when she sashayed down to the boat dock and danced with William Holden. Unbelievable scene. Nothing sexier.

Wow! I bet Holden requested several retakes of that scene.

That was my dream car, but I never got one. I had a 1962 MG Midget and '52 TD and '49 TC later. I also had a '67 Jag E-Type. My English cars were very reliable.

My first "driver" was the family's 1958 English Ford Prefect.

I restored a JAGUAR MK-5 . It leaked oil constantly and the Lucas electrical [The Prince of Darkness] system was quite dysfunctional. The interior was beautiful as it was lined with wood as was the dashboard. The car was very fast and the drive was quiet and magnificent. Because of the daily problems I sold it as each day another component failed. Thanks for the memory and your near daily musical vignettes.

Two months after I bought the '67 E-Type in 1973, the clutch broke. That required removing the long "bonnet" along with the engine and gearbox. I thought I might as well rebuild the engine while it was out. I discovered that the block had been cracked and repaired. I found an engine from a '68 E, and I used that block. It ran beautifully for years.
