Rumor has it that later this year, Nikon will be releasing the Z90, a crop sensor 33 mp digital camera with an Xpeed 7 processor. Has anyone heard what the anticipated price might be?

I would guess it's $1000 to $1200.

At that price, it will be hard to pass up.

I would guess and hope to be around $1600 - remember after all this is a Nikon pro level APSC

I might sell all my Sony and Canon stuff and get this with the 400 4.5 and 1.4X !

This will be the missing link for Nikon - and for Sony and Canon also ! ( yes, I know Canon has the R7 - but not the light/affordable prime lenses to go with it)
.

I was thinking that it might be around $2,000 but that's just my speculation. Looks like it will be one hell of a camera, especially for bird and wildlife.

IF the Z90 is the "flagship" DX camera for Nikon, I would expect it to be priced a bit higher than the D500 when it first came out about 8 years ago. That price was $2,000, so I would expect between $2,500 and $3,000. Of course, the Z90 may be the next iteration of the Z50, with fewer features, dropping the price considerably. At this point it's all rumors. The Z6 III should be the next camera released, and most people believe a DX camera will come later this year.

Thanks for your thoughts. all speculation now. I hope it is at the lower price end.

The rumors are between $1500-2000. It’s likely that if this camera happens it will not have a mechanical shutter, which should help keep the cost down.

The rumor is a global shutter.

Doubtful. I’m guessing they’ll go FF global before crop sensor. Even Sony’s global shutter is only a 24.6mp sensor. I’m pretty sure an APS-C global sensor would be much less at this point. The people clamoring for a pro level crop sensor camera to replace the D500 would much rather have something akin to a Z8/9 with a 33mp BSI stacked sensor.

You are actually the only one I’ve heard anything about a global shutter from.

I may be wrong, but I thought I saw something about this.
