I didn't realize how much balloons were at the mercy of the wind until we took a ride in 15 degree weather. No shots of that here but a few from Albuquerque, NM and Plano, Texas. Hope you like them. They were fun to take.

Albuquerque early one morning. Thought we left early enough to get on the launch grounds but with traffic we were forced to watch from a hill across the freeway. Liked it better at that point.

High winds in Plano at the 300 ft level prevented a launch so they let us on the field. Got lots of shots that we could not have if they had launched.

Found out why the birds were angry with the pigs. When the bird was inflated it looked like the pig was poking it in the rear end.

Nice colorful photos. I've been to the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque many times. It's crazy crowded now so probably won't go again!
I don't see how balloons couldn't be "at the mercy of the wind"!! Free floating, unpowered...
