WhenI was in Grade School, measles was no big deal. It was way before the MMR vaccinations were even thought of.
Typically, Little Johnny would come into class and say to the teacher, "Please Miss, my sister won't be in for a few days, she's got measles". The prevalent attitude was, OK, let's get this over with before the holidays.
So why do we break out the Hazmat suits and go into Level 3 lock-down when someone even whispers the word?
Something must have changed!

Actually, pre vaccine there was a measles epidemic every 2-3 years which would kill over 2,000,000 people worldwide. In countries like the US and UK the death rate was around 1 per 1000. In some 3rd world countries it was 1 in 5. We barely think of measles anymore because of the vaccine. It had actually been considered as wiped out in the US until a few years back when the anti-vax crusades started. Since then there have been several outbreaks.

I am optimistic that acquiring sufficient knowledge can prevent and cure stupidity. For example (no offense intended) you may be stupid regarding vaccine failures but some research can cure that. The Sabin oral polio vaccine was perhaps the best vaccine ever produced but the Salk vaccine in 1955 caused 40,000 polio infections. There are other vaccine failures and unfortunately the COVID spike protein injection will eventually be proven to be one of them. The previous sentence is just an observation of a small but growing fringe minority.

About 11 died from the Salk Vaccine, not 40,000. Don't believe everything you read on the Hog.

Perception and attitude.

The MMR shots worked well for years, then the anti-vaxers said no.
So guess what's back....

No concept that the MMR shots were keeping it in check.

There are two basic post marketing surveillance programs. There is a program called MedWatch. It is designed for anyone to report an untoward experience with a medication. Years after a drug has been available a person can report a side effect otherwise not reported to be evaluated. For vaccines and other biological products, there is the VAERS programs. Although not as commonly known, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System was created to provide medical experiences with vaccines and biological agents. Both programs can be accessed by medical professionals and the lay public. I find it hard to believe that anti-vaxers can support claims of harm and other injuries when there is little to no documentation of such. But the information is readily available.

I wrote that 40,000 were infected. Fortunately most infected persons don't die. So what I wrote is actually true.

Because Measles is one of the most highly contagious viruses currently known. Also that those less thanb 5 years of age and older than 20 years, those with compromised immune systems, and pregnant women are more likely to suffer complications.

Here is more information should you wish to educate yourself
