What are the most valuable photography things you have learned on YouTube? I use YouTube a lot for learning Adobe software.
The video that saved me the most money was fixing a Samsung refrigerator that had a defrost cycle drain that would freeze up, fill with water and ruin the vegetables.

Wouldn't this be better addressed on You Tube, rather than UHH in the Main Photography Discussion area.

Amazing ! Exactly same here ! Also my cousin.

My opening line was, "What are the most valuable photography things you have learned on YouTube?"

The most 'valuable'? Those several that gave me some insight into the "Pep Ventosa" --and others who do similar shooting/processing things, but with fewer images and happen not to be full 'walk-arounds'-- manner of shooting and processing. Over time, there's doubtless been other OohToob videos that've provided me (photographically speaking) with a nudge toward something I hadn't already tried or had never thought to consider, but whatever those might be are few and far between.
Can't, however, think of a single YouTube video that's ever saved me money. Saved me time? Absolutely! But those --all vehicle related fixes or mods or whatever I ultimately did myself)-- that did that had nothing whatsoever to do with anything remotely photographic. Unless I include the access that YT has provided --now that the Computerocene Era has dawned here in Ooh-Toobistan -- to download and convert --for free-- virtually any piece of music that's ever been recorded. One needs good tunes downloaded onto the MP3 player in one's vehicle, after all, and accessing it free (okay, maybe not entirely 'free' since I do pay for Internet access...) is more than worth the price of admission.

I did ask. Sometimes I think I might contribute if I start a topic with something useful. My first photography life altering video series was from Julieann Kost who explained Lightroom 4 to me.
I'm fishing for entertaining stories about what people have learned that's useful.

Sorry, nothing.
I have a bunch of books that are early 70s. They have provided me with a wealth of info.
I don't need youtube.
Newbies might have more answers for you.
They haven't read books, they just watch youtube.

Yes but that is whether you visit them on Youtube, UHH or on the street.
Good grief bsprague, you inquired of one subset of the internet what they may have learned about our hobby, interest or profession on another subset of the internet thus far got met mostly with distain. One fellow has some fifty year old books and "I don't need youtube". Perhaps you should have asked something more to their liking such as "generally which camera brand, Canon or Nikon responds best to the needs of their customers when updating their products?" That would be good for over twenty pages.

I'm still learning, but as of now, I have not come across anything that pops out and really valuable for my own photography.
Mainly entertainment & getting a bigger picture over some stuffs.

So probably don’t follow that with a story about how it helped you fix your fridge.

I don't know about the rest of you but I have learned a lot of things from YouTube. Sometimes you have to watch several postings to get the information you want. Not just photography but auto repair, small engines and many other subjects. Some folks were born experts but I wasn't one of them. I am glad there is a YouTube.
I learned quite a bit from youtube but nothing photography except I did learn how to diassemble a Nikkor 35mm f/2.8 lens and unstuck the focusing ring.
