The first shot is of a nesting Pileated - the nest is about 45 feet up a pine snag - I have not attempted any nest shots - yet - maybe later. This Pileated came down to get a drink of water - never seen this before ! - and he drank a LOT and then flew back to the nest to give some to the little ones I guess.
The Snowy's are from the rookery proper yesterday. I found out it is very challenging to focus on an all WHITE bird ! 8-( - and , the exposure is also challenging - especially with JPEG. These are shot with auto ISO with -1 exposure comp.
The Tricolor is from today with the Sony A9 .....I have more Snowys that I may post later with the A9/Tamron. Tomorrow I think I will take the Sony RX10 and see what I can do with it .....
Thanks to ALL for stopping by and for comment ! .....Larry

lovely shots especially like the Egrets
You did a great job here, Larry! I like then all.
Gorgeous images! Really cool.
When I was in Florida that Woodpecker I chased him all over and everytime I caught up to him he would take off again. I did get some shots of him but not to my liking.
Hi Larry, I have really enjoyed your photos from "the rookery". You have many excellent photos - great photography! You obviously enjoy nature as much as I do.
I am currently spending the snowbird season away from my home in Illinois. I've been to several birding sites near Melbourne where I'm staying.
If you are willing to share your "rookery" location, I would like to make a trip there. I don't think I can match the quality of your photos but would enjoy observing the birds in mating season.
Thanks in advance if you would care to respond.
