Count me in the same boat, brother. I never went to an Indy race. I never watched it on TV, including the Indy 500...just wasn't my kind of racing. However, I do admire those drivers.

" basket of snakes ". I started to draw attention to that feature myself. I've often wondered what sort of role a mathematical formula may play in a design like that, if any, and how much depends on the old " trial and error " approach. Either way, the workmanship is amazing.

Foyt's #1 and Mosely's SgarRipe #12 were left-turn only racers. The Target and PNC Bank cars turned both directions. Indy car has has been turning both directions for 20 years. Women now drive race cars, and they also wear pants! Automobiles today come from the factory with headlights already installed. Some people's minds remain entrenched in the stone age, don't they?
