I do not normally care about camera brands, but I have never gotten the subtle colors in any of my pictures that yours display. Since I have a friend who paints, and correctly says that her camera is truer to the subject colors than mine is, what brand did you use for the bird pictures?
Or do you feel that some other aspect of taking or processing these pictures accounts for their color subtlety?

I also did a little editing as well. But I often don’t and the camera does the Job for me. It’s not to say that editing at the time would not have resulted in an improvement. Your own personal preferances play some part if that makes sense.?

Food for (my) thought. I mainly shoot D7100, but like the color better from the D300.
I do not photograph birds, but have not been satisfied with the color from the D7100.
This gives me a goal for improvement, although all my final results are in print.
