I don't think so and while it has more discount it's still more expensive than the 1TB. Discount price usually doesn't mean that the item is defective in some way but rather they want to sell that praticular item or the item doesn't sell well. And item which doesn't sell well doesn't mean that it's defective in anyway.

That and they sometimes just pick stuff to put on sale.
Maybe in a few weeks the 1TB will be on sale.
(Or has it been in the past?)

Sometimes it’s to clear older inventory.
Is it an SSD drive?
If not, with all of the SSD drives dropping in price it will be harder to sell, hence, price drop.

If the 1s were selling better than the 2s, maybe they have a bunch of 2s in the warehouse.

I'm puzzled, what logic tells you they might be having trouble with them? B&H doesn't make them and any trouble would be handled by Sandisk. B&H like all retailers has sales to move merch and promote business and their logic can be random.

The higher the price, the more leeway is available in pricing, generally speaking. I haven't looked on B&H, but I would go for the 2TB.

There are better choices (such as Samsung T7)

Just f.y.i., the same drive is on Amazon for $120.

The pricing change/discount may be coming from the manufacturer. I would be inclined to get the 2tb over the 1 tb.

I doubt if any of the pricing has to do with quality issues.
