I keep wondering why a barn was built on the edge of a cemetery, or vice versa.

This location is only a few miles from home, and I have always wondered about the "neighbors."

Had no say so as to where the property lines where drawn. At least his neighbors are quiet!

My grandma used to say "I don't understand why they put fences around cemeteries. The ones inside can't get out and the ones outside don't want to get in."

Very true!! A very smart woman!!

There is a YouTube channel I subscribe to of a gentleman that seeks out hidden cemeteries and their history in Georgia. There have been more than a few episodes where the cemetery was damaged from logging companies and other land clearing companies. Fences are knocked down and destroyed to grab every tree and inch of land possible. Headstones and other makers are moved, knocked over and destroyed by these uncaring and disrespectful company employees. It's a shame that these final resting places are treated so badly.

Nice photo, jaymatt!! I've always said I wouldn't want to live next to a cemetery but with some of the parties that are held in the neighborhood I might rethink that if I ever move.

Nice photo John as always. After thinking about it (Dangerous at my age 72) maybe this is a family cemetery. Thanks keep posting. BE SAFE!!

Nice barn & a good picture to support your puzzling question.

It has been fun to think about.

Beautifully composed and presented, John. I’m wondering if the cemetery started as a small family cemetery of the founding farm family and then expanded to neighbors.
