Hello Bill, You are bringing 'New Life' to this SIG. Most photo's are very good, and give 'information' while in yours, there is what I can only call "Feeling'.

I've always wondered about this verse and then then when he was on the cross and he told the theif that today you will be with me in Paradise and here it talks about the dead in Christ being caught up first, so which is it? and i'm going to bed don't wait for me

I have the answer to your question, but I need time to gather the scriptures to back up what needs to be said. I can tell this much, that Heaven and Paradise are not one and the same. Give me a little time and I will post the answer in the Forum, or I can PM them to you; whichever you prefer. I am not a minister, but I have been a Christian for many years, and loving the Word of God. I am praying that the Lord will help me with this. God Bless!

Hi,

There are two locations - Paradise is here on earth - after a time here, he went up to Heaven. The Rapture is when Jesus comes back for those God has given him.

I put this together very quickly, but I hope that it will shed some light on your question, if I understood your question correctly. You will have some scripture to read. It is better that you read it for yourself. I hope this helps. God Bless!

According to scripture, from the beginning, Paradise and Hell were beneath the earth, but were divided by a great gulf. Paradise is also known as Abraham’s bosoms. (Luke 16:21-Luke 16:23) Up until the time of Jesus when the Righteous died they went to Abraham’s bosom, or Paradise, and the unrighteous went to hell. It is necessary at this time to understand that we are spirit and body beings. When we die our spirits leave this earthly shell we call a body. When Jesus died and was resurrected from the dead, all of the righteous that were in Paradise came out (Matthew 27:51-53) and their spirits were joined with their glorified bodies, and went to heaven with Jesus when he ascended to heaven. From that time until now the spirits of the righteous are in heaven with Christ, but they are spirit. When the Rapture occurs, the graves of the righteous will be open and our bodies will be changed and will be like the body of Jesus ( 1Th 4:16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
According to scripture, this will all happen in the twinkling of an eye. (1Co 15:52  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.)
