Real, SOC, 'as shot' all have meaning. There are rules for 'press reporting', both in imagery and writing.

One of our greatest photojournalists, W. Eugene Smith, would have been ineligible. He often burned in backgrounds to emphasize the main subject, which would have been considered obscuring detail.
