I Have these flowers that are called Live Forevers and year after year I get hordes and hordes of Bumble Bees, Wasp, Carpenter Bees, Skipper Butterflies the Skipper Butterflies are a large abundance of these guy’s. My yard use to be flooded with all these
insects but I noticed in the last two years the numbers have dropped significantly. Canon R5, Canon RF 100mm Macro Lens ISO 100 Camera set @ F 11 shutter @ 125s Induro Tripod, I use a large Flash point Ring Light where the camera mounts on rails and the Lens comes through the ring it is a very powerful light I purchased it from Adorama Camera. I shoot only in manual. And use the light for fill. I keep getting the black above and under because I have all my pics stored on my I Phone.

I too have noticed the sharp reduction in insects going back 4ish years, the other issues is when they show up has changed as well......does not bode well me thinks.....

To what do you attribute the difference in numbers?

Insecticides.
I have a lot of clover in my yard but very few bees now. As a child (60+ years ago) our yard was full of white clover and bees - we couldn’t play barefoot for fear of stepping on one and getting stung.

No idea. Year after year there were swarms and swarms of Bees I use to sit on a chair amongst the Bees I never got stung and I mean I would get so close to them all of a sudden the last two years it dropped down to a handful. What I am thinking there must have been a massive nest then someone destroyed it.From morning to night throngs and throngs of Bees then all of a sudden you are down to a handful that you can count on your fingers. There was a time on Long Island where Piping Plovers weren’t fenced in then you had these assholes that deliberately destroyed their nest then the Federal Govt. stepped in and fenced off the area and each year it seems the fence comes out further and further.

Bees, birds and other wildlife. There just does not seem to be as much as in the past.
