There have been many posts here condemning those who are mean and nasty. We should be able to reply to a post without demeaning the poster, but some people seem incapable of doing that. The item below was copied from a different nextdoor.com and posted on the local one.
And sometimes they are warranted.......
I try not to make fun of anyone unless they are different than me in some way.

Every time I go out, I notice a lot of people who don't look at all like me, and many of them speak in foreign tongues. If only everyone was like me! 🤣

That is one of my biggest pet peeve. I hate it when people expect others to be like them.

I figure what I see is just the package the person came in.

Good thought! We all like if others treat us politely, so why not treat others the way we like to be treated. I think it’s important to keep the Golden Rule in mind when posting comments

I always wonder, when I see people all roiled up (like on the Attic) just how they get through the day. Are they always that way 24/7 or shall we say when they are not sleeping? If so, their blood pressure must be boiling over. We sure can have a conversation about different topics and belief systems and still be civil. I have lots of friends with different political and religious views and we are still friends.

Amen! I've said it here many times...live by the Golden Rule and be nice or be quiet!

Good post. Be nice! No reason to berate, insult, embarrass, or be condescending to posters who are looking for answers to legitimate questions. I have seen many posts where answers included diatribes and insults directed towards the OP. It’s not what I would consider to be the spirit or intention of this forum. If you can’t be nice and supportive and need to defame this forum with nasty, snide commentary, say nothing, or rephrase your answer. It does not make you look superior, only nasty. You may have something meaningful to say, but end up losing because of your approach.
Y'all be talkin' about the initial <nasty> comment poster, not the followup reprimands, right?

I suspect they are. I've known people like that - always mad about something.

I am. We have a lot to offer. I have seen great questions and snide replies, when we could be helping others asking for assistance.
I have learned a tremendous amount from this forum. Certain people have been very generous and kind with their willingness to assist me when I am looking for answers. That is what this forum should be about. There is a lot of knowledge here that can benefit so many.
