Two Good Movies

I was laughing too much watching "Kath and Kim," so I looked for a movie. I found "Abyss," a Swedish movie that is rather tense. The town is built on a mountain that has been mined for year for its iron ore. With so much digging and tunneling, there are frequent minor tremors. Naturally, there's a big tremor coming. The actors all speak English.

"7 Women and a Murder" is an Italian mystery set in the 1920s. The actors speak Italian, but there are closed captions available. I switched back and forth to hear what the actors actually sounded like speaking Italian. It's a light, humorous movie, and this was the second time I had watched it.

Both are on Netflix.

I watched "The Abyss" a few days ago but I don't think the actors are speaking English. They are speaking Swedish but the audio was dubbed over in English. I have seen other movies that have done this. Although they do a good job of the dubbing you can see that the audio doesn't quite match the lip movements.

As I was writing the post, I wasn't sure about that, but I didn't want to go back and check. Yes, I imagine they were speaking Swedish.

I just watched Wild Tales from Argentina (subtitles). I was surprised at quality of the stories. Would've been fantastic in English.

Watched Abyss last night and it probably was the most intense movie I've seen. On the edge of your seat movie.

There is also an "Abyss" about the deep sea. Good movie with a good cast.
