Wonderful captures, Ken, these second and third shots are a perfect example of the narrow depth of field you were working with - pared with super-sharp rendition of your subjects. I also love your image of the owl in flight.

Thanks, Joe. The Limpkin was quite cooperative. He didn't spook and I got very close. The "owl" is actually a hawk. His face was oriented to give him an owl look.

The "owl" is actually a female Northern Harrier. And a very nice shot of her!! The Limpkin is really nice too!!

Nice set. I especially like your 1st Limpkin portrait. When I saw your last image (of the hawk), my first thought was "gorgeous lighting and background. My second was "what the heck species of owl is that. Then my eyeballs realigned themselves, and I asked myself "what species of hawk is that?".
