Recently I talked to my good friend who just purchased a Nikon ZFC. He has had it since Christmas. He does a lot of bicycling and likes to take landscape and nature shots. He said he got a spot on the sensor and wanted to clean it but was very nervous about doing so. We discussed cleaning options.

Yesterday he took his Subaru to the dealer for service which is not too far from the Nikon Service Center in Los Angeles. He decided to stop at the Service Center (no appointment) and ask them about the sensor cleaning. "Vic" at the Service Center said they could clean the sensor no charge for him and have it ready when his car was done.

The car service was supposed to take 2 hours. It ended up taking 4 hours and the Nikon Service Center would be closed by the time my buddy got his car back. So there he sat at the dealer.

He called Vic at the Service Center and explained the dilemma and delay. Vic said "No problem, I can drop your camera off to you."

And sure as heck, Vic did exactly that! Upon closing up the Service Center he drove to the car dealer and hand delivered my buddy's freshly cleaned and pristine camera with a spot free sensor.

My hat is off to the LA Nikon Service Center!!! They have always done me right and this is just one more good ending story about strong customer service on the Nikon end. Kudos to Vic and the folks at Nikon Service Center in Los Angeles. You rock.

It’s little things like that which create brand loyalty. Brand loyalty can be just as easily lost.

Your welcome and I felt it was worthy of passing along. Los Angeles always seems to get a bad rap about stuff so this is one of those unsung hero stories.

It's nice to know that some folks still care. I called DMV yesterday to get info...the first gal that I spoke to couldn't get off the phone quick enough. I had to call back and the second gal that I spoke to couldn't help me enough. She was a delight.

It is certainly hit and miss these days. Seems like there are a few diamonds still left in the world.

If possible I’d suggest getting that fellow’s supervisor’s name and send them a letter.

Several years ago my friends and I were going on a motorcycle trip to Canada and I needed a passport. So I started the process two months before we planned on leaving. I waited and waited, called a number of times and always got the reply that it would be coming anytime. On my last call the gal asked me where I sent it to and ends up I was told wrong and it needed to go to Virginia, not Arizona. I told her what the situation was and that I was out of time. Ends up she expedited things and overnight FedXed the passport to me, I getting it on Friday afternoon and then having to leave on Saturday morning. That gal went above and beyond the call of duty and I sent her supervisor a well worded letter saying such.

Thats a great story. Your friend should let Vic's boss know what a great job he did, and that he went above and beyond. That kind of service is rare these days.
