Since Trump ruled that all residents of the country should be counted in the census, it's estimated that the increasing flow of illegal immigrants could affect 22 house seats and electoral votes.

But they can’t vote. And unless I am mistaken the house seating is based on
Last census which took in 2020 and won’t happen again till 2030.
By that time all the current asylees will have held the hearing and either have been removed or granted asylums AND hopefully congress will do something to fix the immigration laws.

Note didn’t read the article because it required a email address given to Fox

It doesn't matter if an illegal immigrant can't vote. That's the point of the article. It's also not talking about the past census, but looking forward and the affect of continuing illegal immigration on representation and the electoral college. The census now is no longer based upon the number of U.S. citizens but upon the number of residents, legal or not, in the U.S. That's the point. By affecting the census it will affect the number of representatives each state will be awarded and thus, the number of electoral votes.

I know that’s what I said the current house seating/ electoral college is based on 2020 census numbers and won’t change till 2030.
So the current influx of immigrant ( legal or illegal) will have no impact till then
As a sidebar the census was correctly done . The law says count “ residents “ not “citizens.”
