I wasn't familiar with the artist, so did a two-minute overview on Google. Your strong composition is very engaging, and it seems you've muted the colors to emulate Mr. Dixon's style.

Thank you, Linda. I hope I was not too esoteric with this reference; I do love his work. His use of color in related but semi-isolated blocks was what I was going for here. His colors were bold but even more muted. His work is among the best at illustrating the fundamentally arid aspect of the west. And he was married to Dorothea Lange for a time and that must have been interesting! I have been reading more about the impact of the WPA arts projects in the west, some good works were done.
