For those interested. The one's showing the surface detail and fares require a solar H-alpha filter. While these can be used on many telescopes, the best is on scopes designed for solar imaging. The finer the detail the more narrow the bandwidth, down to .3 angstroms I believe. See scopes made by Coronado or Daystar for more info. Filters alone can run $3-5000. Different surface detail is also seen using a special UV filter.
Really not seeing a surface as sun does not have one, but different altitudes of sun's atmosphere based on temperature.
