1958 Chevrolet Impala. When this came out I was 7 years old and I thought it was an extremely ugly design after the 57'. However, the look has grown on me over the years.

Had a 55-210, dad had a 57 2 door hardtop and a 61 2 door hardtop. I moved on to a 63 vett. and a 68 vett racer.
The 68 vett was the fastest "B" production at Road Atlanta in 1972-3.

My preferences were the ’55, ’56 and of the course, the classic ’57.

Beautiful car! Quite the change from the 57, but that was true of most of the GM models. I always liked the 58 and thought that they were much superior in design to the 59 - 61.

Of all the GM cars in '58, I thought this one the least ugly (of non-Cadillacs, anyway.). Both the Olds and Buick were hideous, the Pontiac did little for me, but this had great lines, I loved the roofline and the beginning of the six-tailights of the Impala. It was the end of the Harley Earl era, and this design was kind of a one-off while they tried to counter the "Forward Look" of Chrysler. The '55 was and is still my favorite of the three previous models.

They were big and heavy and underpowered even with the 348 ci engine, BUT I would have killed to have one when I was 16

Compared to the '57 they were ugly, and slow. Then again a lot of things were uglier than the '57. Nice pict's tho.

I have always thought the :57 Chevy was a good looking car. A great basis for customizers too. Then one day I got a chance to sit in one. Humm.... Obviously a different group of designers did the interior. The '58 is a great car. They must have fired the interior designers of the '57. Just me n my 2Β’.

You did it again. The background is perfect for this car. Even at my young age of 7 I was a Ford fan back then. Just look at this marvel of a car. The lines and shape must have taken a long time of the designers to get this right. Please keep it up. Starting to look forward to going straight to your photos everyday. Thanks BE SAFE!!
