The foreground is what makes the photo.
I agree, but personally, I would have edited out the white rock or plastic bag, or whatever that white thing is in the foreground. I like the picture, just find the white object distracting and out of place.
Also, as far as Ron's tone goes, I've been told English is his second language, which
may explain it some. Also I agree with the OP that the picture is more about editing than birds, so could go in the PP section I guess, but certainly not worth getting one's feathers in a bunch...

On a walk along the Elm Creek this week a came upon a group of Mallards enjoying the open water on a rather nice afternoon. I took a few photographs and continued on my way.
The first photo was right out of the camera and showed promise. The second photo was the result of spending a little time in Affinity Photo making a few changes: removing some trash and playing with the lighting.
Actually, fwiw, I like the first picture best, due to its crispness, although both are great pics.

That's the way the Stasi of the posting sections roll. I think some of them have been trained to be a$$holes.

As you may know by now Rong isn't very good at using mannerly advice toward others. I always wonder why someone other than Admin would whine about a photo being in the wrong section. Who cares?

Great photo. It would also been neat if you could have stamped your feet or something to catch them in the air. Nice job.

You removed the trash, but what the hell is that big blobby white thing at the bottom right?
