This one was at the refuge 1/2 mile from home. A couple of years ago while I was cutting my lawn one flew in and landed by the pond across the street. I turned off the more and stood still watching it preen. Eventually I went and got my camera and took more pictures than I knew what to do with. I went back to cutting the lawn and the eagle walked to the edge of the curb. I think it was as fascinated with the lawnmower as I was with the eagle.
