Nikon D300 + 18-55 Lens + Batteries & Charger

My beloved Nikon D300 is up for sale. Since moving to the Lumix M43 system I just don't use it much anymore.
Everything is in very nice condition, the lens barely ever used.
Included is the Nikon 18-55 DX VR lens, 2 batteries, original manual, charger and a couple Compact Flash memory cards. I'll also throw in a learning guide book.
Once a near flagship, alas times change - as does the user - and a rig that once pushed $1900 is for sale at $270. Shipping is not included.

I have a D300 that was the first one sold in San Diego , a friend of mine gave it to me after he bought a D7100 [ which i also have now ] , he went mirror less . The D300 is the best of the 2 , heavy , well built , and if you manual focus your bird shots , the optic of the view finder is sharper .Way over 100k shots , and still work like new . Just a great bullet proof camera .

My D300 is the one camera I know I will never get rid of.

This is a great deal.

My Nikon D300 is likely the newest camera I will ever own. It and my D200 are capable of everything that I need to do. As to which one is better, it depends upon what I want from the camera, technologically the D300 is the better of the two.

Occasionally even the D100 gets exercise though it is not even close to the other two. It is mine mainly for nostalgia, then so are my film cameras.

"Included is the Nikon 18-55 DX VR lens" Please verify the exact model of this lens HardwareGuy.
The one you show attached to the Nikon D300 appears to be the Nikon AF-P DX 18-55 VR f/3.5-5.6G lens.
That lens is NOT compatible with the Nikon D300...

I have that collapsible Nikkor (push button to collapse and/or extend) AF-P DX 18-55 VR f/3.5-5.6G lens and it will not focus on even a Nikon D300s with the latest firmware. It can't even be focused manually!

Please show the actual Lens Tube Label so UHH members can determine if this is an AF-P lens.
Note: The AF-S variant of this lens will work on a Nikon D300

From Nikon Support:
"No, the AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G Zoom Lens it not compatible with the Nikon D300. This lens uses a new type of electro magnetic focus motor that the D300 can not communicate with. The D300 is compatible with AF-S and AF lenses, but is not compatible with AF-P lenses. If you need more assistance in finding compatible lenses, please contact Nikon Customer Support.

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration of this request.

It is as stated. It came with the camera, I've used it with this camera.

Thank you for getting back to me in a timely manner HardwareGuy, it is greatly appreciated.
However you stated "Nikon 18-55 DX VR"

You did not state if it is an AF-S or AF-P lens
(those letters are on the lens immediately before Nikkor 18-55mm)
Examples:
AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm (which works on a D300)
AF-P Nikkor 18-55mm (which does not work on a D300)

If you claim it works on the D300 it is most likely an AF-S Lens

However in order to bring closure to my query I've posted images of the two variants that will work on a Nikon D300
That way UHH members will realize precisely what variant of this Nikkor Nikon states will work on a Nikon D300

Hope this helps HardwareGuy
Wishing you much success on your photographic journey

this AF-S Nikkor will work on a Nikon D300
this AF-S Nikkor will work on a Nikon D300...

this AF-S Nikkor also will work on a Nikon D300
this AF-S Nikkor also will work on a Nikon D300...

this AF-P Nikkor will NOT work on a Nikon D300
this AF-P Nikkor will NOT work on a Nikon D300...

..

The photo he posted is of an AF-S lens which will work with the D300.

"The photo he posted is of an AF-S lens which will work with the D300." While I agree the AF-S Nikkor is compatible with the D300 Jim I certainly couldn't read the AF designation from his posted image (even with a magnifying glass) and at the resolution it was presented it simply wasn't possible to verify.

That said I now highly recommend HardwareGuy offering since the AF issue is clarified, it's an excellent pair of Kit (especially with an extra battery and the Nikkor) and is priced below current vendors. btw, the reason I asked is I have a colleague who I'm passing HardwareGuy's post on to since she is looking for same and had to be certain before I emailed her.

Oh, I'm still using that wonderful Nikon wireless Speedlight Commander (SU-800) you sold me some time ago in my Studio. It's so much more responsive than using an on-board pop-up Flash and works superbly in iTT-L BL.

Again many thanks Jim!

Here's a photo specifically of the lens, which will hopefully alleviate any lingering concerns.
