Yes. When I was a young lad, used to get on for free, because if there was a lot of people getting on at the jetty, you just could mingle with them and get on. The Royal Iris, was probably the most well know ferry, that crossed the Mersey.

Yes, this is the bridge that replaced the Runcorn/Widnes Transporter at the beginning of the 60's. It's called the "Silver Jubilee Bridge" and was opened by the Queen Elizabeth.
