This is an image I built in Photoshop primarily using the line and shape tools. I started with a blank white file. First I constructed the train and then I built a bridge and put the train on it. I liked it and felt it needed a place to go so I created a landscape for the train to travel through. I added an oil paint filter to the landscape to give it some texture and plopped the train and bridge into the landscape. The sky was still too plain so I added a sunset. I looked it over and thought there might be an opportunity for a lake, so I put one in. Finally, I added the smoke from the train's engine. I'm liking the result. What do you all think? Comments, suggestions and recommendations are all appreciated. Chris

I think your eye for design, color and composition is off the charts in skill and creativity! If I weren't trying to learn more about certain editing styles (such as interpreting Naive Art) and basic editing skills, let alone shoot more "impactful" photography, I'd be highly tempted to explore the world you live in.

Thank you Linda. I'm really very pleased you enjoy my efforts. I primarily reside in this world in the winter. My cameras haven't been out of their respective bags since November. Naive Art is a new concept to me and another thing I have learned of through being a member of the Digital Artistry UHH forum.

Nicely done. Very creative. My only nitpick and that all it is, is the snow on the one mountain. It looks like an arrow to me.

Thank you. It does look like an arrow. I considered putting some snow on a couple of the other mountains but got distracted and never did it. I'll give it another look.

Very intriguing! Your rendition of the train locomotive reminds me of the designs of some experimental locomotives the Chesapeake and Ohio railroad built right after World War II.

I would call it a breathtakingly spectacular creation! A couple of tiny nits to pick: 1) I'm no expert, but I think steam engines tended to pull trains with cabooses; maybe if the train backed up into the margin, I could imagine a caboose outside the frame. 2) I would prefer a wider format, so the train has some space to drive into. 3) All the high points - the mountain peaks, the engine, the sun, and the lake - are primarily in the left half. As I said, teeny tiny nits; I would purchase the poster just as it is, and make space for it on one of my walls.

Passenger trains never had cabooses (cabeese?) whether pulled by diesel, electric or steam locomotives.
