I own a woods in Fish Lake, IN, and for years, since I was five, there had been an old piece of road grading equipment sitting abandoned there. We used to play on it as kids! Fast forward fifty years, and some guy got in there and took it. Well, long before that, I got some shots of the magnificent rust on this old piece...
A couple of other shots are of the metalwork on an old chimenea π
Nice work. When scrap iron prices skyrocketed, a young farmer I know left his field cultivator (tractor drawn tillage tool) in a field off the road in the fall several miles from home. Spring came, he went to get it and all that was left was was multiple piles of slag where a cutting torch was used.
A scrap dealer I dealt with copied your drivers license with every load. Druggies were bringing in brand new rolls of fencing wire, copper water pipe and wire and all sorts of βillegally sourcedβ metals. If the seller appeared suspicious, heβd call the sheriff.
I never knew rust could look good.
Nice set of texture images, Joe.
