The real standout feature of the G9 X II is its size. While not as thin as a modern smartphone, it's still small enough to throw in your jeans pocket and take everywhere. At 20MP and capturing RAW, I find I'm using this camera more and more. Here's a few recent captures of Gabby cat, captured in RAW and processed in Adobe Lightroom v6.

The PowerShot G9 X Mark II is a pocketable camera with a 1-inch CMOS sensor and an 28-84mm equivalent F2.0-4.9 lens. The camera offers solid quality build, a broad feature set, a pop-up flash, and an intuitive touch-based interface.

Both images were captured at ISO-6400 in the ambient light, forgoing the camera's pop-up flash, nor additional noise processing after the LR-only tools.

Thank you Bill, NMGal, Chris! Gabby is now rather at home indoors in Chicago after a bit of a transition from wherever she was on the streets in the past.

It is a shame that you do not like your cat, Paul (LOL)!

I'm not familiar with that model. Can you change settings, or is it all auto?

Thanks Mike! She was very much the model for some film work a few years ago. Now, I've been experimenting with the pocket-sized digital.

Hey Kathy, let's assume you're asking about the G9XII? This is one of the several G# 'PowerShot' models from Canon, similar to the CyberShot models from Sony. Each about the size of a deck of cards with a zoom lens and a 1-inch sensor, typically at 20MP. The camera has all the exposure features of a DSLR, including capturing in RAW, Manual Exposure, Flash Exposure Compensation and Continuous AF. Being mirrorless, there's also IBIS. I tend to shoot it in Aperture Priority, unless the low light pushes the shutter too slow for me to hold steady, even with the IBIS support. Then, I swap to Manual and get the shutter a bit faster for my needs.

Thank you Kathy, flyboy61, Jack! I selected Gabby from a 'clear the shelters' program a few years ago. She has what I thought was an injury, but have since decided is a birth defect, where one of her rear paws is missing from above the 'ankle'. Everyone who passed on her before me really missed out on a wonderful cat.
