Are you pointing out the word "magazine" in the URL for Aperture ?

I know Aperture very well and will continue calling it a periodical rather than a magazine.

But then, I do have an advanced degree in Library Science so Im very conscious of that kinda stuff ;-)

I guess no one at Aperture has a Masters in Library Science. And what about marketing and self esteem ? "Periodical" is classy, but "Magazine" is just sooooo trashy :-(

When you peruse the list of sections offered here, you'll find a lot of qualified information re: varying photographic experiences/ sites. Many here are quite willing to answer questions knowledgeably, and offer help in any of the particular forums on UHH.

Outside of that, one of many sources on the net, I've found this professional photographer to be of interest:
jpc@johnpaulcaponigro.com.

Greetings, I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a photography magazine that would be worth subscribing to. In my area, there seems to be definitely a lack of photo magazines in stores. I'm looking for something that has some quality information and is not 90% advertising. I know that's a lot to ask for, but that's my goal. I appreciate your thoughts and Happy New Year to all my "HOG" friends.

I like Digital Camera World. It is published in the U.K.

Interesting address. Paul Caponigro was assigned to review my admissions portfolio. Seems he wasnt especially critical, cuz I passed muster ;-)

That's true but there is something about holding a magazine or newspaper in your hands while flipping through the pages.

If you got a thumb's up from this source of artistry, then you apparently presented a quality body of work. I don't see his measure of 'let it pass' as being very deep.

However, in contrast, when I presented some of my images in my earlier days, to a professional friend, I was transported back to the original Batman movie, with the Joker looking through a portfolio -- Crap, crap, crap .........
