How do I lighten up her right eye?
Do you mean her right - which is our left? And is it just the eye that you want brightened or the eye socket as well or the whole side of the face? And do you want us to post edits to accompany any descriptions?
If you’re using photoshop, duplicate the layer then use the dodge tool to lighten the dark side of the lady. Use the menu to adjust the size of the dodge brush and the intensity.
I’m sure there are other more technical was to lighten the area. But, this usually works for me.
Good luck.
I like it as is. It proves you don’t have to be 18 to be beautiful.

philo!
I used Nik Software's U-Point Technology in Nikon's Capture NX2 to lighten the lady's face and the hollow of the right eye. I also got rid of some noise to smooth out her face. I did not smooth out by cloning the deeper folds on her face, hence the darker shadows between her nose and left eye.
Hope it helps!
Be well! Happy New Year! Ed

What software do you use for editing photos? I can recommend several Photoshop techniques, but in the past I have elaborated a procedure only to find the OP didn't have Photoshop.
I'm using photoshop, bridge and camera raw

Used Lightroom masking with a brush and shadow slider.
Overall the contrast wasn't doing the portrait any favours and the shadows needed lifting. The rest depends on how much brushwork you're willing to do.
.
Harsh lighting doesn't do that kind of subject any favours, and having too much shadow isn't ideal.

Here are six possible methods:
1. Use Shadow/Highlight adjustment (Image>Adjustments>Shadow/Highlights) Adjust the sliders.
2. Duplicate the subject layer, set the top layer to Screen Mode at 100%, add a black mask to the top layer (hold Alt/Opt while clicking the layer mask icon.) Now with very soft, large, round brush set to about 15 or 20% opacitity paint with white on the mask over the dark areas to reveal the layer underneath.
3. Add a new layer on top of the subject layer and fill it with 50% gray. On the gray layer, use a large Dodge tool to lighten the dark areas. Hold Alt/Opt to switch to the burn tool temporarily.
4. Using a Levels or Curves Adjustment layer, lighten the face and invert the mask (Ctrl/Cmd +I.)Then, with a large, soft, round brush paint with white on the mask to lighten the desired areas.
5. Use the Camera Raw filter, select masking, and apply whichever mask you prefer. Then adjust the sliders for shadows, highlights etc.
6. Use a combination of all or some of the above.

Try using your Levels sliders to adjust the shadows intensity.

On Number three above I inadvertently omitted setting the new gray layer to Overlay mode.
