I believe Trump really believed he won the 2020 election and wanted to correct that even though he was wrong, he lost fair and square. There's a difference in intent, he believed he won and Hillary and the Dems knew they lost yet they still made attempts to overthrow the will of the voters.

I don't think Trump had the capacity to know what was actually true, I think he really believed he won even though many have told him that he didn't. Democrats KNEW Hillary lost yet they tried to overthrow the will of the people. You are correct, it is an extremely poor comparison because what Democrats tried to do was even more tragic because of their intent, they KNEW they lost yet they tried to overturn the results anyway. Lets say Trump did know and believed he lost the 2020 election. Both instances would then be a viable comparison. Now, do I want Trump to be the nominee and then President again, NO I do not. I want fresh blood on all sides, Left, Right and Center. I would much rather have someone that is more center than I do with someone from the far right or far left. WE need someone that the mass majority of the population can and will support. The real problem is not really the candidates it's the sheep voters, that includes the idiots that will vote for Trump or a Republican no matter what and the idiots that will vote for Biden or a Democrat no matter what. Just so tiring...very tiring for everybody I imagine.

He should have been held without bail until trial. A higher standard should apply to our elected officials and too bad if we have to build more jails to accommodate them.
