Order has been in since August for this lens. Still no arrival. Maybe Nikon should build and stock enough before advertising.

I keep running into people that have them, usually on a Z9 or Z8.
Maybe you should order from someone else?

WHERE you ordered from makes a huge difference. The bigger the store, the more backorders they take, so deliveties will be long delayed sometimes. I have had my 180-600mm lens since the first week in September. But I placed my pre-order in the first hour after release (June 21st) from a small store, NOT B&H or similar huge retailer.
If you waited until August to order you were very late to the party!

I didn't go mirrorless with the Z9 until then and put my order in then. I can find the lens from gray market or from someone who jacked price from $1699 to $2200.

I ordered direct from Nikon within the first couple of hours. I didn’t get it from in the first batch, (which apparently didn’t even cover all the NPS orders), but two weeks later, while I was in Italy, I got a call from Ace Photo, one of my local brick & mortar shops, saying they had one available. They held it a few days until I got back. I can only assume someone at Nikon told them about my order. I love B&H for when I need them, but I never order a high demand, new release item there.

Adorama says expected delivery February 2024.
Nikon has it listed as backordered

Sorry to hear that. I would find a new source for sure. I got mine the first week of release and a few of my club friends just walked into our local camera shop and picked it up the same day.
