What to do on a rainy, miserable day other than watch the Giants and Jets find ways to Lose
These roses I bout the other day are gorgeous, they looked someone translucent, so today I decided to experiment with transmitting light from a flash through them. I used a long cord between camera and flash, so I could try different distances and directions. Used manual focusing and settings and fooled with all of those. PP With PS Elements and Topaz Photo AI. These are the best of the results.

They remind me of something Georgia O'Keefe would have produced

The last five are fantastic !!!
Thanks, it was an interesting experience. I need to design a device to hold the rose, I put it into a tall glass turn moved the camera on a tripod to get the distance right. Also trying to focus with such limited contrast difference wasn't easy. Luckily the camera has a way to highlight what is in focus when using manual, but that wasn't really working well because the rose would still move around.
Interesting picture in #5. Try rotating it 90 degrees ccw, and see if you don't see the face on the left side.
Haven't downloaded it, but you can see it if you tilt your head just a bit to the right.
Disclaimer: If you can, you're tilted too!
Eye is on the left side, right eye not visible- somewhat of a nose - lips and chin. Might need to dodge the mids in the eye are just a bit to bring it out. Almost looks like a tongue sticking out at us as well.
Cool and Fun abstract image. Thx!
Don't get us started on how teams are finding ways to lose. Seems like a lot these days, ever since gambling has been legalized. Jess' say'n
You should have watched Buffalo demolish the Cowboys.
I did, I have always been anti-Dallas.

Hey, thanks for responding. When you get it, it will change the way you look at images.
The last one at 90 ccw. This is a picture within a picture application.
Look in the upper middle; the lines that go towards the upper left. They're dark, as if the eye is closed, as if you're seeing upper and lower eyelids.
See the outline of the face around it's left side sort, of conical, and the rest will come into view.
Imagine a scarf around circling the head, coming down covering the right side. Keep in mind, it's an abstract; use of imagination here. :}
Follow the outline of the face toward the center bottom; seems as if there's a chin with a small divot, up above are the lips, and then you're going to have to work at seeing a partial nose, as if it were covered with the shawl that's around the head. Just above the bottom lip, it looks like a tongue sticking out - Really makes the whole image!
Kind of like an abstract with an attitude.... :]
Keep in mind here; don't look too closely - it's not pixel peeping!
Once you see it, you won't be able to not see it.
oh, one other thing. Sometimes when I sense something's there, and it's not coming into clarity, I'll leave it up on the monitor and view it from afar. And after a couple of times walking back and forth, maybe while doing something else, looking at it momentarily, I'll see it. Let your image talk to you.
With this one however, it came into view immediately. Nature is fabulous, and faskinating - yep, spelled that way.
It's fun! Really cool image. happy hunting! Let me know when you see it.
I need some mind altering substance. I will leave it up on my monitor and see what happens.
