Hello, I have been doing photography quite awhile for a hobby. Mostly do nature photos but want to do more portraits. Any info or tips for taking portraits would be greatly appreciated. Btw, I am just learning this site, please be patient with me!
Welcome! Some members are very picky about using the correct forum upon which to post. Do not use "Main Photography" for just posting photos. Use "Photo Gallery." Most of the rest of us are more laid back.

Read articles and books related to the subject and perhaps take an online course or two. There are many tutorials out there.
I posted to you before about outdoor portraits, where I do most of mine with no lighting equipment. Indoor/studio is a whole different ballgame; equipment, size of room, props, backgrounds, etc. Others here will have much more insight. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
YouTube is your friend. Portrait lighting comes in three flavors - natural, flash, and indoor. Good luck.
Welcome, there is quite a bit of information available here. You should be able to find answers to your questions. If not, post them here and you will more likely then get a suitable answer.
Welcome aboard..! I wanted to try my hand at portraits so I started by taking selfies. I learned a few important things, one of which was that I do not have a "portrait-friendly face".😁
