Beautiful images of the poinsettias. Here in South Florida they are abundant near Christmas and I do not remember seeing them prior to Christmas. My wife has tried to grow them from one Christmas to the next one unsuccessfully. They seem to like Christmas best.
It has been said it is a venomous plant but that is not true. It is a beautiful plant and as I said we see them here in Christmas time only.

"Toxic", "Venomous", and "Poisonous", along with "Infectious (pertaining to micro-organisms)", have all different meanings. "Venomous" pertains to animals, think some snakes, some spiders, honey bees, hornets, some wasps, some fish, some ants, some live Gastropod Seashells (Cone Shells), some jellyfish, and many others, with a means to pierce or bit you to deliver their toxin.

Here is an article about Toxic plants that you do not want to eat and are a danger to your pets (probably children as well):

Yikes, I have two of these now! Lilies & Poinsettia.
