This is the shot I imagined when I first started shooting these ducks ! ..... so, today I made it happen 8-) . This is one of the yearling Juvies by himself. These juvies let me get a little closer than the more skittish parents !
Canon 80D, Canon 400 f4 DO, + my new 1.4X III, from tripod to keep the ISO down ....1/64 !, f5.6, 400 ISO......560mm X 1.6 = 896mm + a medium crop

Woodies are probably my favorite subject to shoot. I’m fortunate in that I have a state natural area with a beaver pond nearby. Ducks of several species and geese are used to people and offer some great opportunities for photography. Love your pics.
